This impactful gathering, led by Mrs. Aline Gahongayire, the founder of Ndineza, aimed to bridge critical knowledge and service gaps in sexual and reproductive health (SRH), combat gender-based violence (GBV) among adolescents, and equip the girls with essential life skills.
The session was enriched by the presence of a special guest, Magnifique from Belgium, who spoke passionately about the importance of preserving their values and protecting their virginity. Her inspiring message resonated deeply with the young attendees, encouraging them to embrace self-worth and informed decision-making. In a heartwarming gesture of support, Magnifique also provided sanitary pads and refreshing juices to the girls, ensuring they have access to basic yet crucial needs.
Beyond education and awareness, the girls engaged in a hands-on cooking session where they learned how to prepare different meals. This practical skill-building exercise fostered a sense of independence and teamwork among them. The day also featured vibrant entertainment, including dance sessions, adding joy and energy to the gathering.
One of the highlights of the day was the communal meal, where the girls, along with Magnifique and the facilitators, shared the dishes they had prepared. This act of togetherness reinforced the values of community, collaboration, and care.
Through heartfelt testimonies, the girls expressed their immense joy and gratitude for the knowledge and skills they gained. Many of them voiced newfound confidence and optimism about their future, emphasizing how the session had broadened their perspectives and strengthened their resolve to make informed choices.
