The Sunday Love Project by Ndineza Organization is a holistic initiative aimed at creating a safe, empowering space for vulnerable children in Busanza, Kicukiro District. By addressing their emotional, physical, and intellectual needs, the project supports over 100 children, aged 3 to 14, and fosters their overall development while promoting resilience and well-being.
Key Objectives
- Empowerment: Foster emotional, intellectual, and physical growth for vulnerable children.
- Health and Well-Being: Promote hygiene and provide essential health supplies.
- Cultural Awareness: Preserve Rwandan values and traditions through activities like traditional dance.
- Parental Support: Offer guidance and regular follow-up to enhance family well-being.
- Education Access: Provide sponsorship opportunities to cover school fees, materials, and uniforms.
Activities
Educational and Recreational Programs
- Sports: Physical activities to promote health and fitness.
- Language Learning: Basic English and French communication skills.
- Cultural Education: Traditional Rwandan values and dance.
- Hygiene Practices: Lessons on hygiene and distribution of hygiene kits.
Support Services
- Meals and Nutrition: Weekly provision of meals and drinks for the children.
- Hygiene Kits: Distribution of soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and lotion.
- Parental Guidance: Counseling and follow-ups with families, led by Ndineza’s founder, Mrs. Aline Gahongayire.
Specialized Groups for Skill Development
- Ndineza Football Club: Boys passionate about football.
- Ndineza Traditional Dance Group: Girls preserving cultural traditions.
- Ndineza Choir: Talented singers exploring music.
- Ndineza IT Club: Older children learning basic computer skills.
WeForEducation Sponsorship Program
The project supports the education of 70 primary and 20 secondary school students through:
- School fees sponsorship.
- Provision of uniforms, shoes, and school supplies.
- Health insurance coverage for children and their families.
